NEWFOUNDLAND

Motorcycles first began to be registered in St. John in 1907 at the same time automobile registration started.  8 motorcycles were registered in 1907 and 1908, and by 1919, 37 were registered.

Colony-issued motorcycle plates probably began on June 1, 1925, at the same time as passenger plates.  The earliest known motorcycle plate is 1926.
